TEK10 and other energy-efficiency standards, A energy-efficiency class house

A class energy efficiency

On July 10th, 2010 Norwegian Husbanken institution enacted requirements for new buildings and houses - TEK10. This is one of the strictest building requirements in the Europe and the whole world. Soon TEK10 will be updated to even more stricter TEK15 standard that will narrow the gap between passive houses - NS3700 (Norwegian passive house standard) and standard houses.

The main requirements for TEK10 are low U-values of house constructions and air-tightness of the structure.

  • Floor construction U-value - not more than 0,15 W/m2K
  • Outside wall - not more than 0,18 W/m2K
  • Roof - not more than 0,13 W/m2K
  • Windows and doors (with frame) - not more than 1,2 W/m2K

This way Norwegian authorities charge new buildings to be energy-efficient and this way the country is leading in the world according to high standards for buildings.

Our houses at the moment easily reach such energy-efficiency requirements and Ekobustas is always learning and doing its best to keep up our production with the newest standards and highest requirements for buildings.
