Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build a prefabricated Ekobūstas house?+
The panels are manufactured in our factory in about 3–4 weeks. On-site assembly from the trucks usually takes the first five days to a week, and a full custom project runs roughly two months from brief to a weather-tight, A-class handover.
Which countries does Ekobūstas export to?+
100% of our production is exported. We build mainly for Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden and the Netherlands, and we are always open to new partners and markets across Europe and beyond.
How much does a prefabricated wooden house cost?+
Prices start from about €800 per m² excl. VAT of living area and depend on the wall, roof and floor build-up, finishing, number of elements and the scope of the project. You receive a fixed project price once the drawings are confirmed.
Can I get a fully custom house design?+
Yes. Ekobūstas has no fixed production lines, so every house is built to your own project — modern, classic, passive or holiday houses. We provide a project price calculation within a few working days.
What building standards do the houses meet?+
We build to the standard your market requires. Our team is experienced with the Norwegian TEK17 and NS3700 requirements, German RAL and KfW-Effizienzhaus standards, Swiss MINERGIE, French BBC and Italian CasaClima, and we calculate U-values, fire resistance and sound reduction for the elements of each project. An A energy-efficiency class house is our recommended optimal solution.
Are the houses energy-efficient and air-tight?+
Yes. Elements are engineered to 1 mm precision and can be blower-door tested. Our prefabricated elements meet Norwegian air-tightness and U-value requirements, which are among the strictest in the world.
