TEK17 & energy standards

TEK17 and other energy-efficiency standards — building an A energy-efficiency class house.

A class energy efficiency

TEK17 — Norwegian energy standard

In 2017 Norwegian Husbanken institution enacted requirements for new buildings and houses — TEK17. This is one of the strictest building requirements in Europe and the whole world. TEK17 standard narrows the gap between passive houses — NS3700 (Norwegian passive house standard) — and standard houses.

The main requirements for TEK17 are low U-values of house constructions and air-tightness of the structure.

ConstructionMax U-value, W/m²K
Floor construction0,15
Outside wall0,18
Roof0,13
Windows and doors (with frame)0,8

This way Norwegian authorities charge new buildings to be energy-efficient and the country is leading in the world according to high standards for buildings.

Our houses at the moment easily reach such energy-efficiency requirements and Ekobustas is always learning and doing its best to keep up our production with the newest standards and highest requirements for buildings. If you have any questions about our houses energy efficiency or building standards — please contact us.
